Case Summary
Jeanette Mangia came to the attention of the FBI because a tipster contacted the bureau to say her husband, Joseph Pastucci, had been inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Federal authorities then identified Mangia in video footage from the riot alongside her husband, who is also charged. Pastucci and Mangia allegedly walked around the building for more than an hour in all, and the pair can allegedly be seen in video footage entering both the office of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Senate Chamber. Court records indicate that Pastucci and Mangia were eventually asked to leave the building by police but resisted. Mangia allegedly had to be dragged out of the building kicking and flailing and reportedly kicked one officer in the groin on the way out. Court records state that the married couple later reentered the building.
Case History
Mangia pleaded Not Guilty to all charges. Failed to appear at Status Hearing on 6/28/2024 and Bench Warrant Has Been Issued. Arrested on 7/23/2024. On 1/22/2025, the court ordered that the case is dismissed without prejudice.
