Case Summary
A little more than a year after the riot at the U.S. Capitol, an anonymous tipster contacted the FBI to tell them that Jared Wise had been at the Capitol that day, federal court records allege. The FBI then obtained Wise's cell phone records, which showed Wise had been in and around the building that day, according to the records. Federal authorities also allegedly identified Wise in security camera footage from inside the building, where he can reportedly be seen walking around the building for about 10 minutes. Back outside the building, police body camera footage shows Wise confronting police officers and looking on as some officers were being assaulted, according to the records. Wise can reportedly be heard saying: "I’m former law enforcement. You’re disgusting. You are the Nazi. You are the Gestapo... Shame on you!” And as he was watching the officers being knocked to the ground, court records indicate he said: "“Yeah, f*** them! Yeah, kill ‘em!” The Statement of Facts states that the FBI confirmed Wise was a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI from 2004 through 2017.
