Case Summary

Isabella DeLuca is a conservative social media influencer who has previously interned for Republican members of Congress and worked with the conservative group Turning Point USA. On Jan. 6, 2021, according to court documents, DeLuca posted on Twitter, "Fight back or let politicians steal and [sic] election? Fight Back!" After rioters breached the U.S. Capitol building, DeLuca allegedly entered through a broken window and began passing out broken pieces of a table to members of the mob outside. According to prosecutors, other rioters then used the pieces of the table to assault police officers. The day after the Capitol riot, an Instagram user asked DeLuca why she supported breaching the Capitol, and DeLuca allegedly replied, "According to the constitution it’s our house." Days later, court documents state, DeLuca posted a message on Instagram indicating support for former President Trump to declare martial law. "If Trump declares martial law in 7 states, his campaign allies could take control of the state’s ballots & overturn the results of the election in Trump’s favor. Which would be ideal," she allegedly posted. DeLuca was arrested on Mar. 15, 2024, in Irvine, Calif.
