Case Summary
A couple of weeks after the insurrection, Isaac Steve Sturgeon got on a flight to Kenya with a return ticket set for April 5, 2021. But a little over a month after he got there, Kenyan authorities ordered him to return to the U.S., where an arrest warrant had been issued for his involvement in the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol, according to court documents. He was arrested at John F. Kennedy International airport in New York. According to body camera footage from police on Jan. 6, Sturgeon and a group of others "picked up a metal police barricade and shoved" it into officers with the Metropolitan Police Department. Sturgeon is the owner of a landscaping business in Dillon, Mont., who hoped to join the National Guard, according to local news reports.
