Case Summary
According to court documents, Ezekiel Stecher was identified in a video that was uploaded onto the FBI’s online tip line. In the video, a male, wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood and a camouflage baseball hat with “Growmark FS” embroidered on its crown, is observed inside the U.S. Capitol building identifying himself as “Zeke Stecher from New Jersey.” According to the FBI, a farmer based in Sewell, N.J., who previously purchased produce from Stecher also identified him through the video. Stecher’s presence in the Capitol was also corroborated through surveillance video, according to an FBI affidavit. In the surveillance video, Stecher can allegedly be seen forcefully pushing the crowd forward toward the Metropolitan Police Department's riot line and into the doors of the Capitol building. Later, Stecher, along with the crowd, is observed being sprayed with a chemical irritant by officers.
