Case Summary
According to court documents, several witnesses came forward identifying Elias Irizarry based on footage taken from inside the Capitol on Jan 6, 2021. Irizarry is a freshman at The Citadel, a military college in South Carolina. Together with a fellow cadet, he is seen entering through a broken window and walking inside the rotunda taking pictures. “Once this matter is resolved, The Citadel will take appropriate actions in accordance with the college’s rules and regulations," according to an official statement from the school. "It would be inappropriate to speculate about any subsequent actions the college would take pending resolution of the charges.” Irizarry is the son of actor Vincent Irizarry, who is known for the soap operas Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.
