Case Summary
Devin Rossman allegedly recorded his participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol on Facebook, posting pictures and sending private messages about entering House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. An anonymous tip brought Rossman to the attention of the FBI, court documents show. Rossman allegedly wore a tan jacket, jeans, a baseball cap and sunglasses to the Capitol, an outfit prosecutors say can be seen on surveillance footage from inside the building. The FBI says it also has data from Google to show Rossman’s phone inside the Capitol. Rossman was arrested in May of 2022.
Case History
Rossman pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 12/9/2022 to 36 months Probation; intermittent confinement of 32 days; special assessment of $10.00; restitution of $500; and a fine of $2,000. On 4/16/2024, he was resentenced to 5 months' incarceration, with no term of supervised release to follow, for violating his supervision. Rossman received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
