Case Summary
Debra Maimone was identified through a video she posted on the social media site Parler. According to court documents, she can be seen in the video inside the Capitol building alongside other rioters. Court documents also identify the videographer to be Philip C. Vogel, who was charged separately in relation to his involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot. Closed-circuit television footage captured Maimone walking inside the Capitol building interacting with Vogel, according to an affidavit. In the video, she allegedly can be seen near a group of individuals who are pushing through law enforcement and forcefully opening a door. According to the FBI, Maimone and Vogel can also be seen picking up a bag clearly marked “POLICE,” rummaging through it and stealing silver packages, which contained escape hoods, a form of personal protective equipment designed to protect individuals from chemical agents, biological agents, nuclear or radiological particles and toxic industrial chemicals for a short period of time. Maimone and Vogel operate the McKees Rocks, Pa.-based Vera General Contracting and Cleaning Services, with Maimone listed as owner and Vogel as company president on the business’ website.
