Case Summary
Deborah Kuecken went to the U.S. Capitol with her brother Gary Smith, court documents show. Prosecutors say Kuecken and Smith entered the Capitol through the Rotunda doors, remained inside for around four minutes then exited. The FBI say they got a tip about the pair and compared images from Kuecken’s Facebook page to images from the Capitol, where she wore a parka with a high furry white collar, a green scarf, and sunglasses. Smith’s son positively identified Smith and Kuecken in images from the Capitol. Kuecken and Smith were arrested in October of 2022.
Case History
Kuecken pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 6/9/2023 to 36 months of Probation; 30 days of location monitoring; $500 in restitution; $10 special assessment; 60 hours of community service. Kuecken received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
