Case Summary
David Walls-Kaufman came to the attention of the FBI after he was named in a civil lawsuit related to the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, court documents show. Screenshots used to identify Walls-Kaufman in that suit, found by the Sedition Hunters, showed Walls-Kaufman in what the FBI calls a “scuffle” with law enforcement. Prosecutors say he wore a red, white and black motorcycle jacket, which they say can also be seen in a youtube screenshot of Walls-Kaufman discussing his work as a chiropractor. Court documents say Walls-Kaufman appeared on body-worn camera footage and surveillance video, which show him inside the Capitol. Prosecutors say they were also able to confirm Walls-Kaufman’s phone number and that his cell phone used cell sites inside the Capitol. Walls-Kaufman was arrested in June of 2022.
