Case Summary
In the days following the Jan. 6, 2021, riots, the FBI received multiple tips from individuals identifying Daryl Johnson and his son Daniel as being inside the U.S. Capitol building, according to court documents. A federal judge authorized a search warrant for Daryl Johnson’s Facebook account in late April, court documents say. From the search warrant, the FBI uncovered posts that referenced Daryl Johnson being inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. “What the media is saying is completely false. It was Antifa causing the damage. I was there. Trump supporters were restraining the Antifa people. Do not believe the reports – it’s complete BS,” he reportedly wrote.
Case History
Johnson pleaded Guilty to one charge: Civil Disorder. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced 6/1/22 to 30 days incarceration, 1 year of supervised release, a $2,000 fine, $2,000 in restitution, $100 special assessment. Johnson received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
