Case Summary

On Jan. 6, 2021, Daniel Lyons Scott wore a black ballistic vest, goggles and a carabiner on his vest, according to court documents. Scott, who goes by the nickname “Milkshake,” is a known member of the Proud Boys and has a tattoo of the organization on his left arm, according to the FBI. In a Wall Street Journal video from Jan. 6, 2021, Scott is seen walking alongside known members of the Proud Boys in Washington, D.C. On the same video, a man is heard screaming: “Let’s take the f***ing Capitol.” Another individual then answers: “Let’s not f***ing yell that, all right?” Ethan Nordean, one of the most powerful leaders in the organization, then responds: “It was Milkshake, man, you know … idiot.” Later at the Capitol, additional footage from various sources shows Scott pushing two police officers backward up the steps. Scott appears to be one of the first people to initiate contact with law enforcement and is seen later pulling officers into the crowd.

Case History

Scott pleaded Guilty to two charges: Obstruction of an Official Proceeding and Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 7/12/2023 to 60 months incarceration; 36 months of supervised release; special assessment of $200; restitution of $2,000. Scott received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
