Case Summary
Danean Kimberly MacAndrew was identified by the FBI as a person inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, based on a review of cell tower data, court records indicate. FBI agents then traveled to MacAndrew's house in late September to interview her, where she allegedly admitted to entering the Capitol building that day, though she claimed she was let in by police. MacAndrew also had posted content on the social media platform Gab that indicated she was at the Capitol that day, court records state. In one comment, she allegedly wrote of expecting to be arrested: "I was scared of it for weeks, so I didn't post my videos. I finally stood up for truth. When I did, I wasn't scared anymore."
Case History
MacAndrew pleaded Not Guilty to all charges. A Bench trial verdict on 1/17/2023 found MacAndrew Guilty on all charges. Sentenced on 8/8/2023 to 3 months incarceration; 24 months supervised release; $70 special assessment; $500 restitution. MacAndrew received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
