Case Summary
Photos from an FBI statement of facts allegedly show Country Cramer wearing a mohawked helmet and carrying a bullhorn and small baseball bat as he and his brother, Eric Cramer, who is also charged in relation to the riot, approached the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021. Country Cramer later told FBI agents they’d seen other rallies turn violent on television and they wanted to protect themselves. Two weeks after the riot, during a phone interview with FBI agents, Country said he waited outside near the Reflecting Pool while his brother Eric went inside. When interviewed again seven months later, Country clarified that he did enter the Capitol to find his brother Eric just inside the doorway. Surveillance footage shows the pair remained inside for a few minutes before exiting to an upper terrace to take photos of the crowd. Country was arrested July 8, 2022, in Martinsburg, W.Va.
