Case Summary
On Dec. 16, 2020, Corrine Montoni posted on Instagram that "January 6th is the day to keep an eye on." Four days after that, she mentioned to another person on Facebook that “Trump called us to dc jan 6th [sic]” Less than three weeks later, Montoni had taken a flight to Washington, D.C., from Tampa, Fla., and was posting videos on her Instagram and Parler accounts from inside the U.S. Capitol with fellow rioters, court documents indicate. That day, she also posted on Facebook: "Today we showed them how done we are. The Capitol building belongs to US, we the people. This is our house. ... We broke a few windows, sure but we were a peaceful protest occupying the people's property." On Parler, she said, "I was there. We were 99% MAGA. I didn’t see one ANTIFA. And I was inside the Capitol.”
Case History
Montoni pleaded Guilty to the charge. Sentenced on 9/28/2023 to 30 days incarceration; 24 months of supervised release; a special assessment of $100; restitution of $2,000. Montoni received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
