Case Summary
In February, a tipster reached out to the FBI with photos that Christopher Cunningham had posted to Facebook that showed him inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to court documents. Location records obtained by the FBI from Google also reportedly place Cunningham in the Capitol that day, entering on the west side of the building a little after 2:15 p.m. and leaving on the east side. Cunningham also appears in surveillance camera footage that day, court documents indicate. According to a sentencing memorandum filed in federal court, Cunningham served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 2010.
