Case Summary
Christina Gerding was allegedly part of the crowd that made it inside the U.S. Capitol rotunda on Jan. 6, 2021, according to a criminal complaint. In the days following the siege, the FBI received tips about a widely circulated photograph that shows her posing in front of a painting of the Declaration of Independence with another individual believed to be Jason Gerding, who is also facing charges. Jason Gerding's Twitter account shows an alleged embrace of QAnon, a conspiracy theory that claims Satan-worshipping pedophiles are running a global child sex-trafficking ring and plotting against Donald Trump. It is not clear whether Christina Gerding is also a follower.
Case History
Gerding pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 5/16/2023 to 24 months probation; $10 special assessment; $500 restitution; 60 hours of community service. Gerding received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
