Case Summary
The Department of Justice says a "close contact" of Bryan Wayne Ivey contacted investigators in late January after recognizing him in photos from the Capitol riot, wearing a brown jacket, brown hat and sunglasses. The witness allegedly told investigators that Ivey also admitted entering the Capitol that day. Federal prosecutors say Ivey can also be seen in surveillance footage from inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as he "attempts to assist others in entering the building." The FBI arrested Ivey on March 4, 2021, in Cookeville, Tenn.
Case History
Ivey pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced to 36 months of Probation; 60 days location monitoring/home detention; $10 special assessment; $500 in restitution. Ivey received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
