In the days leading up to Jan. 6, 2021, Brent Meldrum retweeted posts saying that “Its paramount that all Americans storm DC,” and imploring people to “Occupy The Capitol,” according to court documents. Meldrum was subsequently seen on security footage inside the Capitol building on Jan. 6, entering at 3:06 pm and being removed by Capitol Police around 3:33 pm. Meldrum was identified by federal agents after an anonymous tipster recognized him in a TikTok video exiting the Capitol building. When agents interviewed him in December, 2021, he refused to talk about the events of Jan. 6. He was arrested on Dec. 4, 2023.

Meldrum pleaded Guilty to both charges. Sentencing set for 5/8/2025. On 2/11/2025, the court ordered that the case is dismissed without prejudice.
