Case Summary
Brandon Kelly Dillard’s alleged actions on Jan. 6, 2021, were first tracked by online sleuths who gave him the nickname “#Spidernazi." The name came from a video allegedly showing Dillard wearing a distinctive spider web-patterned hooded sweatshirt and climbing down the wall from the Upper West Terrace of the U.S. Capitol to the window frame of a Senate conference room. According to federal court records, Dillard can be seen on video footage climbing through the hollowed-out window and entering the building. Court records state that law enforcement also managed to identify Dillard through his cell phone's location in the area of the Capitol and confirmed he traveled from Las Vegas to the Washington, D.C., area from Jan. 5 until Jan. 8.
Case History
Dillard pleaded Guilty to one charge: Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds. Ther other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 4/9/2024 to 4 months incarceration, with credit for time served; 1 year term of supervised release; $25 special assessment; $500 in restitution. Dillard received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
