Case Summary
According to court documents, FBI agents interviewed Brandon Heffner on Nov. 30, 2021, about his involvement in the Capitol riots earlier that year. During the interview, Heffner admitted to being a former member of The Proud Boys, but denied entering the Capitol building on Jan. 6. (The affidavit also notes that Heffner had previously been arrested in Washington, D.C., by U.S. Park Police in December of 2020 during a different protest.) Federal agents assert that on Jan. 6, Heffner was part of a group that held shut a door to the Capitol building, preventing officers from exiting and deploying tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Case History
Heffner pleaded Guilty to one charge: Civil Disorder. Sentencing set for 3/21/2025. On 1/22/2025, the court grants the government’s motion to dismiss the case with prejudice
