Case Summary

Federal prosecutors say that Arthur Jackman is a member of the far-right extremist gang known as the Proud Boys. During the Capitol riot, a childhood friend texted Jackman, and Jackman confirmed that he was inside the Capitol and sent the friend a photo of himself in the building, according to court records. Jackman also allegedly appears in video footage taken by a reporter for the New Yorker magazine and can be seen giving the "OK" sign, the common hand signal that has recently been co-opted by the Proud Boys and other far-right extremists. About two weeks after the riot, according to court records, Jackman gave a voluntary interview to FBI agents in which he admitted that he had been a member of the Proud Boys since 2016, stated that the 2020 election was "stolen" and said he had "no comment," when asked whether he breached the Capitol. Based on a review of video evidence and records obtained from Google, federal prosecutors allege that Jackman entered the Capitol twice on Jan. 6, 2021. Jackman was arrested on March 30, 2021.

Case History

Jackman pleaded Guilty to one charge: Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds. Sentencing reset for 1/29/2025. On 1/22/2025, the court grants the government’s motion to dismiss the case with prejudice.
