Case Summary
Anthony Nolf was first brought to the attention of the FBI when the bureau received a tip saying Nolf's son, who is a minor and not named in Nolf's complaint, had claimed he went to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and "saw the woman get shot," presumably a reference to the shooting death of Ashli Babbitt. The FBI then interviewed Nolf, who admitted that he went to former President Trump's rally that day and went to the U.S. Capitol steps. He denied going inside the building. According to federal court documents, surveillance footage and open source video from the Capitol grounds show Nolf entering a tunnel that leads to the interior of the Capitol, where Nolf and other rioters allegedly engaged in a "heave-ho" effort to get past police barricading the building.
Case History
Nolf pleaded Guilty to one charge: Civil Disorder. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 6/14/2024 to 3 months incarceration; 36 months of supervised release; $100 special assessment; restitution of $2,000; 150 days location monitoring. Nolf received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
