Case Summary
Anthony Scirica was identified to law enforcement by at least two former co-workers as having been inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, court documents indicate. A third tipster also sent videos of Snapchat stories Scirica had allegedly posted showing the exterior and interior of the Capitol building. One Snapchat showed a screenshot of ABC News. In it, Scirica can allegedly be seen in the Capitol's Statuary Hall with an American flag draped around his back with an added caption: "Anthony made it on TV." Capitol security footage and location records obtained from Verizon also place Scirica in the Capitol that day, court documents indicate.
Case History
Scirica pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced 1/20/2022 to 15 days of incarceration (7 intermittent weekends), with credit for time served (1 day); $500 fine; and $500 in restitution; $10 special assessment. Scirica received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
