Case Summary
Geolocation data from a search warrant served on Google showed that Anthony Carollo’s mobile phone was likely inside the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, according to an FBI statement of facts. Investigators compared his Illinois driver’s license photo to surveillance footage filmed inside the Capitol, and they found people they believed to be Carollo, his brother Jeremiah Carollo and their cousin Cody Vollan. In October 2021, Carollo allegedly admitted to FBI agents that he entered the Capitol and identified himself in the surveillance footage. His brother and cousin have also been charged.
Case History
Carollo pleaded Guilty to one charge: Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building. The other charges are dismissed. Sentenced on 9/13/2022 to 12 Months of Probation; $10 Special Assessment; restitution in the amount of $500; 60 hours of community service. Carollo received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
