Case Summary
In late January, Anna Morgan-Lloyd went to the Greene County, Ind., Sheriff's Department to try to obtain a firearm permit. Once there, according to federal prosecutors, an employee of the department recognized Morgan-Lloyd from Facebook posts, where she said she stormed the Capitol. At that point, federal investigators got involved. Searches of Morgan-Lloyd's Facebook profile allegedly uncovered multiple posts from her and another defendant, Dona Bissey, in which they described breaching the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. "I’m here. Best day ever," Morgan-Lloyd allegedly wrote. "We stormed the capitol building." In one post, Bissey allegedly stated that she and Morgan-Lloyd were among the first 100 to 200 people to breach the Capitol building.
Case History
Morgan-Lloyd pleaded Guilty to Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building, and the other charges were dismissed. Sentenced 6/23/2021 to 36 months of probation; 120 hours of community service; $10 special assessment and $500 of restitution. Morgan-Lloyd received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
