Case Summary
Andrew Johnson was arrested outside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, for allegedly violating the curfew order imposed by the mayor of Washington, D.C. At the time, law enforcement did not allege that Johnson entered the Capitol building at any point during the riot. But in October of 2022, the federal government — citing social media images, police body camera footage, and Johnson's own booking photos from his curfew violation — filed a complaint alleging Johnson did in fact enter the building. Johnson was arrested on Dec. 8, 2022.
