Case Summary
Andrew Williams, a firefighter-paramedic who was photographed and filmed allegedly inside the Capitol building, pleaded not guilty to the federal charges against him. Court documents cite a couple of videos that appear to be recorded on Jan. 6, 2021, in which Williams allegedly says, "We're storming the Capitol! Yeah baby!" and "How are they going to arrest every single person?” A photograph of Williams inside the Capitol shows him underneath an archway, wearing a Trump hat and pointing to a sign that reads "Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi." Williams' lawyer told local news stations that "the president and Capitol police encouraged despicable behavior" and insisted Williams "took part in none of it."
Case History
Williams pleaded Guilty to the charge. Sentenced 2/9/2022 to 24 months of probation; $500 of restitution; $10 special assessment; 60 hours of community service. Williams received a full pardon on January 20, 2025
