Case Summary

According to court documents, Alan Fischer III, also known as "AJ," is known to associate with the extremist group the Proud Boys. He allegedly appeared with members of the group near the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and flashed the "OK" hand signal, which was popular with the group during the attack. Prosecutors allege that Fischer joined with the mob trying to enter the Capitol through a tunnel by the Lower West Terrace and yelled, "push!" as the crowd pushed against police officers. Later, prosecutors allege, Fischer threw an orange traffic cone, a pole and a chair at a line of police officers guarding the Capitol. According to HuffPost, civilians helped identify Fischer by comparing photos of the Capitol riot to photos of Fischer from his work as a fashion model. A spokesperson for the U.S. Air Force confirmed that Fischer served in the Air Force from 2013 to 2017 and reached the rank of senior airman.

Case History

Fischer pleaded Not Guilty to all charges. Jury trial set for 3/3/2025. On 1/21/2025, the court grants the government’s motion to dismiss the case with prejudice.
